2020 Race Season in Victoria in Full Force

It's time to pick your race goals for the 2020 Race Season in Victoria BC. Thousands of athletes are competing to get a slot in one of the hundreds of races around the Island. Regardless, whether your focus is Ultra-endurance trail running, swim-run, triathlon or biking there is a position for everyone.

Last year the Force was strong all over BC. We had athletes attempt their first ultra trail at the Finlayson 28km 50km and we had others qualify for ITU Nationals at the Peach. Not to mention, a few of us hit the hills of the Sea to Sky highway for the Whisler Gran Fondo. However, it's a new Decade and it looks like new races are being added for the 2020 Race Season in Victoria BC.

Here are a few of our favorites races in Victoria BC to help out with your 2020 race goals.

The Vancouver Island Race Series

This super popular series has already kicked off but it's never too late to join in. Many local athletes race this series to get comfortably back into the race mode, training or just be amongst a bunch of really cool people. Not to mention, that this race series is a great way to tour the Island and all the beauty it has to offer.

SwimRun Victoria

This is a single day multi-race for a two-person team. August 11th in the beautiful Thetis Lake Regional Park in Victoria, B.C. The logistics are convenient for all participants being close to downtown Victoria, Langford, Hotels, and Campgrounds.

Dynamic Race Events - The Elk Lake Triathlon

This Race series is Nerd approved. Every race is a gem and held in some of the most beautiful landscapes British Columbia has to offer. Check out the Elk Lake Triathlon. In fact, This event is celebrating over 38 years of racing and many competitors return every year to reunite with old friends. Not to mention, pancake breakfast is included.

Plan to go the distance try the Oliver BC Sprint, Olympic and Half Iron. Oliver is known to be BC's Wine Capital. You are surrounded by vineyards, rolling bike hills and a summer splash in Tuk-El-Nuit Lake. This race sells out every year and athletes need to plan early. Coastline Endurance Running

Coastline puts on more than just a race it puts on a party. They are well known for the grueling 28k/50k/100k ultra-endurance trail race. Not to mention, this race can reach an overall 10,000 ft in total elevation and is considered highly technical. Furthermore, it's a UTMB Qualifying race and participants can earn up to 6 ITRA points towards Ultra Tour De Mont Blanc. Registration opens February 14 and will take place on Sept 11-13 2020.

Tour De Victoria

A.K.A Ryder Hesjedal's Tour de Victoria. This Multi distance event is for everyone from kids ride to the 160km ride. This challenging yet beautiful ride starts from the magnificent parliament buildings and travels around the Saanich Peninsula ending back in Downtown Victoria. Plan for a fun weekend with parties and entertainment. Most importantly, book early as this race is prime tourist season and is set to start August 22, 2020.

Crossing The Finish Line

May the Force be with you. The 2020 race season in Victoria BC is going to be amazing. However, once you're signed up it's time to get your training schedule in order.
