Ultra Is
Ultra is taking your dreams to the next level. Ultra "Ultramarathon" is the ultimate race you need to complete. It is part of any sport that likes to take it to the next step but It takes a real Yoda to achieve this higher state of being. You are the Yoda.
You start at a 5k then make your 10k but all of a sudden you hit Ironman distances. What's next? Just add Ultra to it.
Ultra can be as simple as adding a harsh environment or going beyond 50Miles. This dream is more than achievable, but you have to be willing to meet the darkest half of yourself.
Some people think you are only running away from yourself, but many Ultra athletes believe It's a way to conquer the darkest half of yourself. It's not about control really; it's about letting go. Becoming closer to who you were meant to be and one with your surroundings.
It's like entering a universe where you are in sync with the energy that surrounds you. Very Jedi Master Yo!
I would like to introduce you to a few amazing people we know that show you how ULTRA can be you.
Jerry Hughes Victoria BC
This Man stood up to demons. He truly faced his Goliath "Gardners Syndrome" a genetic colon disease that took his Fathers life at the young age of 34. Doctors soon said to Jerry that there is a similar time limit like his dad on Jerry's own life. Jerry stood up to this and decided to take on running. He knew he could prove the medical professionals wrong and give others like him HOPE. From Novice to Ultra in record breaking time this amazing man continues to inspire his family and the amazing people around him.
Jerry has just completed the Squamish 50 and has also ran 208km to raise donations for the Help Fill A Dream Foundation. We are extremely proud of this local hero. Follow Jerry Hughes on FaceBook

Ultra WOW! I can't say enough Scott Jurek. This guy started Ultra in his college years and has never looked back. He agreed to place the wings of grace on his back and has continued to push the limits and fly beautifully over them. I won't be able to cover everything about this fine dude so after watching the video below check out his book "Eat&Run" this will give you a better look inside the brain of an ultra athlete.
The Ultra Nerds will bring you stories of all those crazy nerds that go beyond the distance and continue to inspire in Ultra Triathlon, Ultra Running, Ultra Swimming and more. Be inspired and be the inspiration.
